The City of Whittlesea’s Civic Administration department is responsible for delivering quality customer service and ensuring Council meets its statutory, governance and organisational functions. Our administration officers are spread across the entire organisation providing support to a range of business functions in a variety of ways. Our human resources team work hard to secure and retain a healthy workforce, providing advice and support to managers and staff on recruitment, training and development of our people.
Our local laws team manage and control the physical amenity of the municipality including fire prevention, litter control, parking, school crossing operations and safety, and various permit schemes. Our risk management staff work hard to ensure the health and safety of staff, the community and Council – working with other departments such as PR, events and engineering.

Key projects
Key projects that our human resources team are working on include the development and implementation of an expanded traineeship program and a review of the human resource function in the organisation with an emphasis on the areas on performance management, talent management, training and recruitment.
Administration officers work on a variety of projects depending on the department they work in.
A key project that our civic administration employees are working towards is the Local Government Elections in November 2008.
Key projects that our risk management officers have worked on include Council’s award-winning organisational health program Wellbeing at Whittlesea, in conjunction with our health promotion officers.
