Engineers with hard hats

Do you have an interest in how communities, places and spaces grow? Can you plan ahead, think conceptually and see the detail too? Then a career in engineering might be for you.

Council's engineers have a major role to play in relation to the City's road, drain and path network. They are involved in both the design and construction of local roads as well as asset management and forecasting the cost involved to maintain the road and drain network into the future.

Why work for us?

The City of Whittlesea is one of Victoria's fastest growing municipalities with a mix of older established areas and rapidly new growing areas. This presents unique and diverse challenges for our civil and traffic engineers. There are many opportunities for engineers to progress within the organisation, move across local government in Victoria or Australia or move into the private sector.

Key projects

Working on projects from inception to reality and seeing your work make a real difference in the community is a key benefit of working for the City of Whittlesea. The growth and size of the municipality means that you could be working on multi-million dollar projects that span a number of years.
